Why we built Cognora

Selective and OC preparation is expensive. Tutoring runs to hundreds of dollars a week, and much of it is generic worksheets handed to every student regardless of what they already know.

Cognora takes a different approach: practice that adapts to the individual child, concentrates on the topics they get wrong, and reports progress in language a parent can actually act on.

It covers every section of the paper — Mathematical Reasoning, Reading, Thinking Skills and Abstract Reasoning — because preparing for only one of them is how strong students lose marks.

What Cognora is not: it is not affiliated with the NSW Department of Education, and it does not mark extended writing. Writing needs human feedback, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
