How to get the most out of them
Sit the sample pack cold, without notes and without help, and time it loosely at half an
hour. The score does not matter and should not be recorded anywhere. What matters is the
marking afterwards: go through the explanations together and sort every wrong answer into
one of two piles — did not know it, or knew it and misread the
question.
Those two piles need opposite treatment. The first is a teaching problem and belongs in the
planner as a topic. The second is a habit problem, and no amount of extra practice fixes it
— slowing down on the question stem does. In a test where most candidates know most of the
content, the second pile is usually where the marks went.
Everything here is free to copy and print for your own family, or for a class if you teach
one. If you want hundreds more questions of the same kind, with the difficulty adjusting as
your child works, that is what the app does.
